Gingers music is a fine blend of funky rhythms, rocky riffs and wailing guitars. The young fourpiece heading from Zurich, Switzerland, is influenced by the free floating and experimental music of the late sixties and the early seventies. A typical Ginger concert combines well structured songs and lose psychedelic jams. Playing the same set twice does not exist in their musical world. Jamming live on stage is an essential element of their music – often without knowing where they finally will end up.

October 2011

One year after our debut Ginger present you the second album 'SEAHORSE' before taking a longer break. The new creation features a broad variety of different songs and styles, convincing with athmospheric compositions, subtle arrangements and densely woven soundwalls. Featuring a couple of guest musicians on the organ, the cello and the vocals this is Gingers most elaborate studio work so far. Get your copy on CD or on finest quality 180g vinyl!

The swiss release party will take place October 28th in Zürich together with COLOUR HAZE!

The last show for 2011 will be taking place at Alte Kaserne in Zürich - we will be sharing stage with no one else but Colour Haze! A musical journey with the legendary stonerrock powertrio from Munich is our gift to our faithful supporters and a decent way to close an intense period of almost 5 years, over 150 live shows and tens of thousands of kilometers on the road. Ginger will be taking a break from touring for the first half of 2012 to explore more of this planet, to focus on our professional careers and for taking care of the expected offspring.

Ginger are currently in the studio, recording and mixing their second full length album. The new album entitled "Seahorse" will feature a couple of guest musicians' appearances as well as some brand new song material. It will be available by October 7th from our homepage for free download and at our live shows on vinyl and cd.

News beyond that: our music is now available from Green Brain Mailorder in Germany and from Record Heaven in Sweden. We would like to thank Johan and Wolfgang for the cooperation!'

After an eventful year we are proud to annouce our new live album "From the Road". Recorded during our tour through Germany in November 2010 and on our New Years Eve Show in Zürich, those 9 Songs represent the actual technical knowhow and the bands wide stylistic range.Featuring old and new as well as previously unreleased songs, you can here get some kind of journey through our 4 years of band history,

And for the lovers of the music of the 1960s and 1970s we got two fine cover versions of songs by Pink Floyd and Van Morrison.

After a long winter, Ginger are back with a lot of good news and live dates for you:

We will do a short tour with 3 shows on easter holidays in Germany. During that tour we will have the chance to open up for Todd Wolfe, who's been known best for playing guitar with Sheryl Crow. Just a week later we will support the british bluesman Danny Bryant at Sounddock14 in Dietikon and another two weeks later we have the honour to share the bill with german shooting star Henrik Freischlader in Frauenfeld. This upcoming summer will see not only the release of the new live album, but also a bunch of nice festivals: We have been added to the line-up of a few great festivals for this summer. We are especially looking forward to play Fusion Festival near Berlin on Friday July 1st, which has sold out its 55'000 tickets within 48 hours.
We will also perform at the Woodstock Festival in Dornstadt on June 24th and 25th and at Schlauer Bauer Openair in Wetzikon on August 12th as well as at Woodstock Forever in Thüringen on August 13th.

The next show in our hometown will be on Mai 21st at the Kubaa in Affoltern-Zurich, there we'll be supported by 'Smells Vintage'' also from Zurich.

We are proud to announce a new upcoming album: the live recordings from our falltour 2010 are currently being compiled and mixed for a full-length live album. One featured song of this live album is taken from our NYE show in Zurich, guess which one it is, write us an email and win a CD!

We want to thank everyone who came out to see us play on our epic August-Bebel-Tour in November! It was a success and we enjoyed ourselves very much. We even conducted a little "art project"; a dogma-inspired photo series that's called "progressive decay in 11 steps". Check out the pictures in our Archive! Currently we are busy listening our way through all the live tapes from the tour. Who knows, maybe there will be a new live record release next year?

By now we are able again to deliver LPs: finest quality 180g vinyl! Those who ordered a vinyl on tour and have not received it yet - please contact us! Unfortunately not all address information from the list were clearly readable and we might have got something wrong.

On New Year's Eve we'll play a very special show at the famous 'Doors Celebration' Party in Zürich! Event on Facebook

Ginger is gonna be on tour in Germany in November 2010. We want to see all the german gingerheads somewhere out there! After the realese of our debut album this summer, we hope to record enough decent material for the first Ginger live record on vinyl!

Burg Herzberg Festival was fantastic!
We want to thank everyone that came out for seeing us and grabbing a copy of our new album, all the other good bands for the inspiration and all the freaks and hippies to spread the good athmosphere.

Ginger is happy and proud to announce that we were officially added to this years lineup at legendary Burg Herzberg Festival. We will play a set on the freakstage and for all those who haven´t got enough after that: you will even find us jamming at the beer tent.

Another premiere will be our appearance at Festicheyres in Neuchâtel on July 10th - it will be our first show in the Romandie, the french speaking part of Switzerland!
